One at a time, please?

Since the school days began last November, I noticed that I am different compared to how I was as a student last semester. I don't know if I am feeling a little laid back, or I'm just really stressed from all the school and work load. I'm not using this as an excuse, but I think it's because 70% of my subjects now consist of Math. I know the basics: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division...but when you involve word problems, all those drawings, I get lost. So this semester, whenever I pass a quiz or activity, I would thank the Lord up above for helping me! I'd say, "Thank you, Lord! Akalain mo nga naman!" Yung feeling na akala mo sasabit ka pero nakalusot. Having that fear of failing, I really work my ass off especially in Math related subjects. With all my effort, I can proudly say that I am a more studious student now compared to when I was studying at Miriam College. My parents and friends noticed that.

The moment I step my feet on the grounds of TIP, I make sure that I open my notes and browse through them thoroughly even for just 5 minutes. Even if I don't understand most of it, I check it out anyway.  If I really have to understand it, I go to YouTube and Google for reference instead. I enjoy the feeling of being a student again. Maybe that's also why I put this much effort even though it's already eating me alive. Aside from the allowance I get from my mother, class suspensions and holidays are some of the things I look forward to as a student. I won't be a hypocrite. Sometimes, I love not going to school because it gives me the chance to work on my duties in the office.

Living this double life now is pretty surprising for me. I never imagined that I'd be working and studying at the same time. Whenever I hear stories like this before, I thought it was easy. I was wrong. Though my work in the office is simple, time is my main problem. I have so many homeworks & reports to do, and then I have deadlines to meet in the office. No matter how much I try to manage my to-do list on my planner, 24 hours a day is just not enough. There are days when I wake up in the morning, think of the things I have to do, and feel tired right away.

1. Where can I get an installer of Auto CAD?
2. Where can I buy a book in Solid Mensuration?
3. I have 3 exams tomorrow - 6 hours isn't enough.
4. I have to do lots of work at the office tomorrow
5. I have to think on how will I pay may fcking credit card
6. BLABLABLABLA

When I accomplish something, it gives me the feeling that I deserve all the good things in life. I know that all these stressful things I am encountering now will be better in time... but I want to go on vacation mode NOW.

Cheers to 2 wonderful years! | Banzai: The Great Teppanyaki Theater

Happy 2nd Anniversary, Bebeboy!  I am truly blessed that we are not that roller-coaster-kind-of-relationship, but instead a give-and-take-kind-of-love. Thank you for everything - alam mo yan. My dad once said, "Ang pag-ibig ay tinatapatan ng tunay na pag-ibig".  I heartily believed and agreed with him on that. Nothing in this world could be greater than our love for each other.  We must always be on each other's side. No matter how angry  I am at you, no matter how hard it is for me to try to give up my pride whenever we fight, it will always be us. I love you to infinity and beyond, Mahal.

We celebrated our anniversary at Banzai: The Great Teppanyaki Theater in SM Mall of Asia. It is a buffet restaurant which can cater up to 300 people in one sitting. They have different authentic Japanese foods to select from. In order for the customers to enjoy their dining, Banzai has different stations; from Tempura Station, to Ramen Station, to Sushi Station, and so on. Everything is according to what kind of Japanese cuisine they serve. Also, every weekend at about 7:30 in the evening, they have a 15 minute show that tells stories about the Geishas and Samurais, and the cooks also showcase their talents by flipping their kitchen utensils. They also have an art gallery where in you can wear costumes, and take pictures on their 3D walls.

I am in the sense of nostalgia since I've been missing Japan so much. There is something about their culture, especially their food that makes me want to go back. Thank God there is a Banzai buffet restaurant that has everything I am craving for. As we entered, I was astonished by the ambiance; the interior design is beyond flawless. I also enjoyed the food. We actually stayed there for 3 hours, and that is very unusual for us.

Of course, not every restaurant is a perfect 10. We were disappointed when we left the restaurant. The guy who seems to be "busy" at the reception didn't say anything like, "Thank you. Come again" -  not even a single word, and I know he saw us. Hence, the food and the restaurant itself is great.

PHILIPPINES : Coron Island, Palawan

I've been to some real good places here in the Philippines, but this one is paradise. It is too good to be true.
How to get to Coron Island?

Book a flight to Busuanga, and take a boat ride to your resort in Coron Island.

A little infromation about Busuanga and other islands:

Calamianes Islands is a group of islands in Palawan. This includes Busuanga Island, Coron Island, Cuilion Island, Calauit Island, Malcapuya Island, Banana Island, and other minor islands. Busuanga Island is the largest Island among these islands, and also the town center of the province. You can find here the Mount Tapyas that has a cross on top. Many tourists and some locals climb 742 steps just to see the panoramic view of the islands.

Where to stay in Coron Island?

We stayed in Balinsasayaw resort for 3d/2n. We also celebrated my mom's birthday here. I would rate this resort as much as we enjoyed our stay in Coron Island - a perfect 10. The owner, Auntie Rose is very hospitable and caring towards her guest. When it's breakfast, lunch and dinner time, she assures that her guests enjoy the foods. The waiters are very attentive when we need them; they always refill our glass with water without calling them. Those kinds of services make us want to go back to their resort.

They have rooms for couples, and villas for the families. They also have cabanas and hammocks if you want to enjoy the scenery, relax or read a book while sipping your favorite fruit shake.

This resort also offers island tour package- we chose the Coron Island tour package.

After getting off the boat, there are 100 + steps awaiting for you to climb. But everything is worth it when you see this beautiful scenery. This is where all the tourists and locals take their pictures. After picture taking, you have to go down for another 100+ steps to be able to see and swim at the Kayangan Lake.

This is the famous Kayangan Lake in Coron Island.  It has a picturesque landscape, and  this view left me in awe - I can't believe that this kind of beauty still exists.  The water is so clear, you can definitely tell if it is really deep. You will be more amazed if you go further, and see what is actually under the water. Aside from the fishes, you will see the different rock formations underneath. Kayangan Lake is too deep to swim for kids, or even some of the adults - wearing a life vest is required. You will have a tour guide along with you, even when swimming.

As what our tour guide says, Barracuda Lake is named after the Barracuda fish itself because the rock formation underneath the lake is comparable to the teeth of a Barracuda fish - sharp and edgy. Barracuda lake is not safe for diving, and one must be cautious when swimming. The water in this lake is deeper than Kayangan Lake.

It is best to go here if it's low tide. You can go under the rocks, and see the other side of the lake. Also,  this is what they call Twin Lagoon, this is where the Tubig Tabang meets Tubig Alat . That's the main reason why the water is blurry, also when you swim, you'll get this funny feeling that the water gets cold, and then suddenly it's not again. I was sort of...mystified.

Banol beach is from the word "BAUL" because this is where the early civilians found a treasure chest. This beach is not big as you think; but you will surely enjoy the fine sand of the beach.

This hot spring must be on your "to go list". After a long tiring day, you need of course to relax. This hot spring is divided into three heat levels from 28 C to 42 C.

There are other islands you can explore like the Bulalacao Island tour,  and its destinations are Banana Island, Malcapuya Beach, and Bulog Beach. There are also designated for islands and areas at the open sea for the divers or tourists who wants to dive.

All pictures and videos were taken by me.

Philippines: Davao | Kadayawan Festival

The intense heat in Davao didn't stop us from having fun. It was really hot but I couldn't care less. Since this is actually my first time to witness and experience such a superb festival, I had to enjoy each and every second of that day.  When we were walking on the way to Roxas Street, we were already hearing the drums playing. We followed where the beats were coming from, and I can't help myself but smile because I am overjoyed. I was running everywhere while putting myself together. I am literally going crazy about anything and everything I see. Parang hashtagthisistoomuchtoohandle. Kulang na lang umiyak ako sa sobrang tuwa. HAHAHA! Even though I forgot to put sunblock on my skin - knowing that I got  darker 100x than my usual skin tone, I perspired like crazy, it didn't bother me at all! HALA SIGE SAYAW. Good times, good laugh.

The Kadayawan festival is an annual event in Davao City, which is a week-long celebration. It is about the appreciation of nature and thanksgiving of life. The festival only happens every 3rd week of August, so you better book your tickets before August 1. Filipinos and Foreigners from different places in the Philippines  and outside the country go here just to experience and savour the festive vibe in Davao. They have series of main events like, street dance competition (Indak indak sa kadalanan ) and Floral Parade (Pamulak).

The street dance competition starts from Roxas street all the way to the City Hall of Davao City. They were all judged in accordance to their choreography, the story behind their dance, and of course their props and costumes. These performers were all worth to watch because they gave their 101% performance level. They also wear flashy and stunning costumes that really represent the story of their dance. They are very artistic when it comes to props, which is exceptionally impressive. Each group has a unique story to tell about nature and everything about it.

Of course, the festival would not be completed if there was no  Floral Parade (Pamulak). This is also a parade for the different fruits that are best known in Davao like Durian, Pomelo, Mangoosten, Marang, and Lanzones. There was also the parade of different mascots of the Philippine Eagle. It was a colourful and viscous parade in the city of Davao.

These are the only pictures I have, since I was too busy taking videos. HAHA!

THANK YOU VON AND RACHEL FOR TAGGING ALONG WITH MY CRAZINESS DURING THE KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL. ALSO, TO MY COUSINS WHO WOKE UP EARLY JUST TO SEE ME AND HAD LUNCH WITH ME BEFORE I WENT BACK TO MANILA! THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Durian drink & Red Velvet Cake
This wraps up my Kadayawan Festival trip!
THIS DURIAN ARCTIC BLAST IS A MUST TRY! You can find this at Blurge Cafe in Abreeza Mall and Gaisano Mall.Their beverages, cakes, and pastas are kind of expensive, but it is all worth it! Also, try the Durian Cheesecake!

ASIA: Singapura

This is actually a continuation trip of our Malaysia Trip. Starting from the immigration of Singapore in the Malaysia-Singapore border line, we took a bus to Bugis. It took us more than an hour to get there. After we got off the bus, we were really clueless where we were heading to. We asked some people where we could find our hotel,  but they all lead us to different places. I think we walked every streets in Bugis just to find our hotel. We didn't want to take a cab because it was very expensive. We stayed in Beach hotel, just near the Bugis Junction. It is a cheap and comfortable place to stay at; it is near the malls and MRT station. Just along the street are restaurants wherein you can find mostly authentic Singaporean cuisines and other asian food as well.

Liang Seah Street

You can ride a bus, cab or train to go to some tourist destinations. We preferred to ride a train because it is the only fastest way we know. The first place we went to was of course, the Merlion Park. From the Bugis station, we took the green line which is the EAST WEST LINE bound for Joo Koon, and got off at the RAFFLES PLACE STATION. SINGAPORE TRAIN ROUTE MAP

We walked for 10 to 15 minutes to get to the Merlion Park. Don't be surprised if you will see a lot of people going there and taking pictures of the Merlion for an hour already. This is because the Merlion is an iconic tourist destination of Singapore, and it also signifies and personifies the Singapore.

The Merlion Park

HOW DID THEY COME UP WITH "MERLION"?

Way back when, Sinpapore was known for  being a fishing village or sea town, and also the original
name of Singapore was Singapura which means lion city. They got its name from the word MER which means sea, and adding the word lion.

In a daylight you can try the Singapore River Experience; it only costs for $22 each. They have a  ticketing booth near the Merlion Park and every stop of the cruise. This cruise lasts for about 40 minutes; instead of walking by foot, you can just relax and enjoy the view. It is better to start at the Merlion station. It will take you from Marina Bay precinct, to Boat Quay precinct, to Clark Quay precinct, and all the way to Robertson Quay precinct. It was a good ride; you're lucky if the the assistant of the boat is a Filipino!

At night, you will be stunned by the beauty of Singapore
when you see all of the lights! The lights reflect on to the bay
which makes it more breathtaking!
Marina Bay Sands & Singapore Flyer
This picture was taken at a bridge going to the Gardens by the bay.

Gardens by the Bay | The Silver  Leaf
This place is so beautiful, their lights changes. These are gigantic super trees!
It is indeed very relaxing; just lay down and look up.
Don't forget to take pictures here!

During our second day, we decided to  go to Universal Studios. The entrance ticket costs $74 each. We took a train from the Bugis Station (East West Line/Green Line), and got off at Outram Station, and then we changed line to Purple Line bound to HarbourFront. The station of the Sentosa Line is at the top floor of the building. You can buy your tickets there to lessen the hassle when you get to Universal Studios. If you are planning to do some activities like the Mega Zipline, visit the Marine Life park and such, do it on a separate day because you need 5 to 7 hours to explore the Universal Studios. If you are heading to the Universal Studios, get off at the Waterfront Station.

ATTRACTIONS AND ENTERTAINMENTS:

FAR FAR AWAY LAND
Come and see the adventures of Shrek and Donkey as they save Princess Fiona!
Shrek 4-D Adventure

THE LOST WORLD
Must try:
1. Canopy Flyer
2. Jurassic Park Rapid Adventures - it is obviously a rapid ride through the
waters and you can see the different habitats of the dinosaurs.
It was a bit scary! You will surely be wet, but don't worry they sell disposable raincoats.

WATERWORLD
If you want to see real live action and be thrilled with death defying stunts and explosions,
this will surely entertain you.
Before they start the show they throw water at the audience!
The seats were labeled, if you want to get wet and soaked, sit in front or on the blue seats.
ANCIENT EGYPT
Must try ride: Revenge of the Mummy
We actually tried this twice. It was really good!
If you are familiar with the Space Mountain in the Disneyland Hong Kong,
it is somewhat the same.
A roller coaster ride at the dark with mummies, I must say!

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

Too bad it was under maintenance, but seeing this makes me jitter!

I will come back for this!

SCI-FI CITY
One of my favorites! If you are a fan of transformers, then this
must be a place for you!

TRANSFORMERS THE RIDE: THE ULTIMATE 3D BATTLE

This is one of the best!
It will make you feel like you are an autobot
fighting for the decepticons!
You'll be fighting side-by- side with Optimus Prime,
 and kicking Megatron's ass!

If you have extra time to explore Sentosa, you can ride a cable car to get a full view of the whole city of Singapore!!!!

If you want to chill and have some drinks, you can go to Clark Quay. It is comparable to Eastwood here in the Philippines. The G-Max is also located in that area!

If you want to go shopping for branded clothes, shoes, and bags. You can go to Expo, it is a BIG shopping place! It is just one station away to/from the Changi Airport!

ASIA: Johor Bahru, Malaysia | LEGOLAND!!

You can go to Johar Bahru by bus, train or plane. We chose the plane since we didn't have much time to travel for 3 to 6 hours. When we rode the plane, it only took us an hour. Also, the major plan was to go to Singapore after Legoland.

Before we flew to Malaysia, we booked our Legoland ticket already to avoid queuing.

TIP # 1: SAVE & CLICK.
Book everything ahead of time. Your plane, hotels and Theme park tickets. Just like what we did. I have friends who have credit cards (I can't volunteer mine because I maxed it all out) so we first booked our plane tickets last November because it was on seat sale. Last January, we booked our hotel for Malaysia and so on and so forth. We didn't  book everything in just one click. SAVE & CLICK.

We booked the flight to Johar Bahru, thanks to Air Asia.

TIP # 2 : GO TO THE AIRPORT 4 HOURS BEFORE THE FLIGHT
They really have long queues especially if you are traveling for domestic flights. It took us an hour to get to the airport, and additional 2 hours in queuing. Also, try to check-in online because they will charge you RM 10 each if you did not. This has something to do with their system or printing the tickets. I don't why. We were pissed already.

We arrived at the airport in Johar Bahru exactly an hour after it took off, and their airport was actually nice. We had to take a yellow bus (Causeway link bus) to bring us to Legoland. It costs each person RM 10. The travel time is 45 minutes to  60 minutes. If you have a luggage with you, they have locker rentals in Legoland, so don't worry.  1 day rental = RM 40. Only give an exact amount because the machine doesn't give change. They have medium to large lockers for your things and luggages.

For more information about Legoland Click here

MINILAND ATTRACTION

IT'S NOW TIME TO HAVE SOME FUN AT
LEGOLAND WATER PARK!

I must say that this was actually the highlight of our legoland trip! If you're going to Legoland, have an overnight stay at the hotel to enjoy both parks! Especially, the water park! All slides will make you go gaga!

This finally wraps up our Malaysia Trip!

If you decide to go to Singapore, you can take a taxi to go to where the Malaysia customs & immigration to have your passport checked and stamped. Ride a bus to the Singapore customs & immigration, and do the same as well.

TIP # 3 PASSPORT NUMBER, PLACE OF ISSUED & DATE OF ISSUED.
When going out of the country, you'll always have forms to fill out that will be given to an immigration officer. To lessen the hassle, and keeping you on pulling out your passport from your bag every now and then, you must know your PASSPORT NUMBER, PLACE OF ISSUED AND DATE OF ISSUED. It would be a great help!
