ASIA: Hong Kong 2015 | Allen's birthday celebration

Hong Kong is a must-go place if you are going out of the country for the first time. Mainly because it is just a 2-hr plane ride from Manila, relatively cheaper than any other Asian country, and lastly, Disneyland!

This Hong Kong trip was actually not part of the plan because we were supposed to go to Cagayan de Oro to celebrate his birthday and we already booked a flight months ago. But when we discussed our budget for the trip, like for the hotel, activities and all that, we found it much more expensive than going to Hong Kong. Along with that, a college friend told me they were going, so we decided to tag along. Good thing it was on seat sale. HEHEHEHE.

Since, we were on a tight budget and just recovering from our recent trip, we budgeted our pocket money at P10,000 pesos only for 4d/3n! Yes, we survived. We didn't really spend too much, even on food. We just ate at Mcdo or any fast food restaurant because "Hong Kong" cuisine is way out of the budget.

Going around Hong Kong City is so easy because of the accessibility and convenience of transportation such as buses and trains. I would suggest to avail an on-loan OCTOPUS card at the airport which can be used in transportations, retail stores, fast food restaurants, convenient stores, and more! You can get it for HK$150 for adult(HK$50 deposit, HK$100 initial stored value), you can refund the HK$50 and remaining balance as long as you maintain that HK$50 in your card at the airport.

Hong Kong is a wi-fi country! Uploading pictures on your social media is not a hassle at all. Haha.

How to get there?

We booked a direct flight going to HK from Manila for only P2,219.09. Knowing me, I love seat sales!

Where to stay?

We stayed at Chung King Mansion (Tsim Sha Tsui). It is the cheapest place we could find. The room was actually small,  as well as the bathroom, though the bed can fit 2 persons. If you are "maselan" and claustrophobic, I wont suggest this place for you. This is a great place to doze off after a tiring tour and if you are on a tight budget. We booked it for P5,378.28 only.

There is a travel agency located at the ground floor of Chung King Mansion where you can buy cheaper tickets in Disneyland, Ocean Park, Ngong Pink 360 Village (Cable Car), Madame T, and many more!
